World Expo History
The
Bureau International des Exposition (BIE) to explore the trade and exports of the
world and to introduce the products of the countries to the world. This event
is being held after each 5 years in different countries of the world since April
1851.
First World Expo
First
expo was held in London in 1851 (April to October). Total 25 countries of the
world participate in this first world expo. About 6,000,000 visitors from all
over the world attend this expo. 10 hector area was required to held this first
event.
World Expo 2020
The
world’s largest show “World Expo” is being hosted in Dubai (UAE) since October 01,
2021 and will continue at its peak till March 31, 2022. This is the largest event
which gives opportunities to 192 countries of the world to explore their products.
It will be the first time that Middle East will host this great event and marking
a break from the usual run of European, American and Asian hosts. Due to good and
managed infrastructure system, hoteling and other required facilities the UAE has
managed well all the event. World Expo 2020 in Dubai will be held on
438-hectare area around a central plaza, “Al Wasl” located between the cities of Dubai and Abu
Dhabi, near Dubai's southern border with Abu Dhabi. The master plan to
organize this mega event is designed by the American firm HOK.

How
many visitors expected for world expo 2020? It is estimated that this mega
event will attract more than 25 million visitors from all over the world. Out
of them 17 million visitors will be from out side of the Dubai in these 182
days of expo.
Risk of Covid due to Expo.?
More
than 95% of UAE’s population has been vaccinated against Covid-19. Other UAE’s arrangements
to avoid the covid pandemic spread, will minimize the risk to increase the covid
numbers due to expo.
Cost incurred on Expo 2020.
According
to BNC network an estimated cost on this mega event “World Expo” will be about $
35 billion during tenor of expo.

World
Expo will boost the economy of UAE and UAE will get long run benefits in Hospitality
& Tourism, Construction & Real Estate, Infrastructure & Transportation,
Energy. Dubai Government is expecting that
this event will create more than 300,000 indirect and indirect jobs across different
sectors.
